TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Islamic Republic of Iran will send a Quran reciter to this year’s international Quran competition in Croatia.

Iranian qari Ali Reza Mokari

The Awqaf (endowments) and Charity Affairs Organization of Iran introduced Ali Reza Mokari as the country’s representative in the 28th edition of the Quranic event.

Mokari was the top winner of the Meshkat international Quran competition last year.

The organization’s Quranic Affairs Committee and the Committee for Inviting and Dispatching Qaris have selected him to compete for Iran in Croatia’s Quranic event based on his successes in national Quran competitions and in accordance with the host country’s regulations and criteria.

The 28th edition of Croatia’s international Quran contest is scheduled to be held in person in the European country’s capital city of Zagreb next month.

Last year, Iran’s Sina Tabbakhi came first in the memorization category after competing with 33 memorizers from 26 countries.

The following footage features recitation of verses of the Quran by Ali Reza Mokari.
