TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) refer to dreaming and its effects as important issues.

What Quran, Holy Prophet Say about Dreams

There are many verses in the Quran in which people, including messengers of God, kings, or ordinary people, have a dream.

This shows the significance of dreams and how they are related to personal and social life.

According to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), there are three kinds of dreams: Some are good news from God, some refer to upsetting issues caused by Satan, and some are about one’s self-talks.

But which dreams are good news from God for the believers?

Referring to verse 64 of Surah Yunus, “They shall have good news in this world's life and in the hereafter; there is no changing the words of Allah; that is the mighty achievement,” the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said the good news is a dream that believers have in this world.

In another Hadith about this verse, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that good news is a Ruya as-Sadiqa (true dream) that a believer has or someone else has for him.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) also said that a Ruya as-Sadiqa is good news from God and part of prophethood.

The issue of dreams is so important that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said one who does not believe the truthfulness of Ruya as-Sadiqa, has not truly believed God and His messenger.
