Quranic Orthography Conference to Kick Off in Libyan Capital Today

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An international conference on Quranic orthography will be launched in the Libyan capital of Tripoli on Monday.

A number of experts and Quranic calligraphers from different countries will be taking part in the conference, according to Libya Al-Mustaqbal website.

It will run until October 19 at the city’s Corinthia Hotel.

The conference has been organized by the Libya Holy Quran Institution on the sidelines of a Quranic calligraphy exhibition.

Other sideline programs include specialized forums, workshops on Quranic calligraphy and a ceremony to honor winners of an international Quran competition.

Calligraphers from different countries such as Egypt, Algeria, Syria, Iraq, Mauritania, Oman, Morocco, Jordan, Palestine, Turkey, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia showcase their Quranic artworks at the exhibition.

Among them is also Iranian artist Omid Rabbani, a calligraphy master and member of the Iranian Calligraphy Association.

A number of Qurans calligraphed in different styles and scripts will also be on display at the exhibition.
