The ministry shared photos in social media of people’s enthusiastic participation in the programs, Youm7 website reported.
Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mukhtar Gomaa said that with the launch of the project, people have attended the programs in large numbers.
He said it shows that mosques have regained their position and their educational role in the society.
Gomaa thanked all of the government official who contributed to the programs and also appreciated the presence of people in mosques.
Quran recitation circles, prayer recitations, educational events for children, and sending women preachers to different governorates were among the programs organized as part of the project.
The Awqaf ministry has also held a competition in which a mosque is chosen for having the best religious lessons offered by its prayer leader and preacher.
