TEHRAN (IQNA) – Hazrat Zeynab (SA) had a set of virtues that has turned into a good role model for all women in various realms.

This is according to Fatemeh Baluchi, a seminary scholar, who spoke with IQNA about the character of Hazrat Zaynab. Here are excerpts from her interview:

The most significant event in the life of Hazrat Zeynab (SA) is the role that she played in Karbala and what followed. The way she managed these incidents demonstrates the experience and skill that she had acquired throughout her life. A brief reflection on her life shows how successful and capable she was in all stages of life before and after Karbala.

She was a religious scholar who provided answers to the problems of the Muslims of her time. Ibn Abbas, one of the greatest interpreters of the Quran, quotes narrations from Hazrat Zaynab and starts such narrations with this sentence: “Our wise woman Zainab bint Ali told me”.

In addition to her great lineage, she had other virtues such as wisdom, cleverness, thoughtfulness, kindness, good manners, chastity, and generosity. She had even been known as the “sea of generosity”.

He raised brave children who, at a young age, were able to play a role and make history in Karbala and were martyred to defend their religion and Imam.

Every stage of Hazrat Zaynab's life is full of manifestations of her moral competence. Among her characteristics are piety, giving importance to authentic values more than anything else in life, paying attention to science and knowledge, political activities and helping people, and enhancing the quality of home and family environment. Muslim girls and women can pay attention to her life and find a role model in the family, scientific, political, moral, and revolutionary issues.

There are three points in her life that girls and women in Muslim society should take into special consideration: hijab, worship and patience. As it has been narrated in history, she implemented these three throughout her life. According to Imam Sajjad (AS), Hazrat Zaynab prayed all the night on eve of Ashura.

For taking her as a role model, there is a need to know her lifestyle and character. No matter how modern society is, morals and human principles cannot be changed. Spiritual principles and good morals will be noticed in any society where they are presented.

Western societies with a non-religious appearance are not opposed to intellectual and spiritual growth and seek to introduce successful models, but unfortunately, Islamic societies are negligent in introducing modern and at the same time religious models to young people, and this negligence has caused the current situation.
