TEHRAN (IQNA) – An international conference on New World Order Geometry was launched here in the Iranian capital on Wednesday.

Hosted by the University of National Defense, the two-day event discusses issues related to the formation of a new world order.

The opening ceremony began with recitation of verses 64-67 of Surah Al Imran by Iranian qari Hamid Reza Ahmadivafa, followed by playing of Iran’s national anthem.

Then a video clip featuring remarks by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on the new world order was played.

Later, General Esmail Ahmadi Moqaddam, the president of the University of National Defense, in an address welcomed the participants and said that the idea of holding such a conference was raised after the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s statements following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.

The Leader said that the world is on the threshold of a new order and the main role in creation of this order should be played by universities and academics, he noted.

Ahmadi Moqaddam added that 358 papers had been submitted to the secretariat of the conference, 238 of which were accepted.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri were among other speakers at the ceremony.

A total 182 scholars, experts and thinkers from 36 countries, including China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Oman, Syria and Iraq are taking part in the conference.
