TEHRAN (IQNA) – Winners of the Ramadan Quran competition for employees of the UAE’s Sharjah government from its various departments and bodies were honored in a ceremony.

The Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment organized the ceremony at the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah, after the seventh edition of the competition witnessed a great participation during the holy month.

The ceremony was attended by Hamid Mohammed Al Jarwan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment; Omar Ali Al Shamsi, Director of the Establishment; Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Finance Department; Dr. Sherzad Taher, Secretary General of the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah; Hamad Musabah Al Tunaiji, member of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment, and a number of officials.

Al Jarwan delivered a speech in which he praised the success of the Ramadan competition, which, he said, added to the series of Quranic awards that the Establishment is keen to organize annually, in translation of the directives of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler Sharjah, aiming to encourage members of society to memorize the Noble Quran.

He also thanked the jury and the cadres that contributed to the success of the competition, in addition to the cooperation of government departments and agencies, and the turnout of male and female employees to participate and compete in this seventh edition, which was marked by a high number of participants representing 63 government agencies in the Emirate of Sharjah.

After that, Al Jarwan, accompanied by Omar Ali Al Shamsi, honored 22 winners, including 10 male and 12 female employees.
