TEHRAN (IQNA) – A center for teaching Quran memorization was launched in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

The center, named Darwish bin Karam, has the capacity to admit 200 boys and girls willing to memorize the Quran, according to Al-Itiihad daily.

The Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Department of the city has founded the center at the English Islamic School of Abu Dhabi.

The school is run by the Darwish bin Karam charity society.

Head of the society Khadijah bint Darwish bin Karam, parlimanent member Amal al-Qubaisi and representatives of the Awqaf department attended the opening ceremony.

Qubaisi in an address hailed the department’s role in development of Quranic centers in the country.

 Khadijah bint Darwish bin Karam also addressed the ceremony, saying the center uses the latest technologies for teaching Quran memorization.

She added that Quran memorization courses are held at the center two days a week separately for boys and girls.
