A senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement said Imam Khomeini’s (RA) profound view on the issue of Palestine was rooted in his Quranic and religious insight.

Islamic Jihad official Ramiz al-Halabi

Ramiz al-Halabi made the remark while addressing an international seminar titled “Imam Khomeini’s Monotheistic-Moral Discourse in Contemporary World; Achievements and Future Outlook”.

It was held on Friday, ahead of the 34th demise anniversary of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In his speech, Al-Halabi discussed the thoughts of Imam Khomeini and contemporary Islamic and human awakening with a focus on the issue of Palestine.

He said Imam Khomeini (RA) was a great scholar who viewed Muslim world issues from the standpoint of Islam and had a comprehensive, civil, and unifying view about the Muslim Ummah.

Imam Khomeini supported the oppressed Palestinian nation for being Muslim although he was a Shia character while Palestinians are Sunni, he stated.

Al-Halabi added that Imam Khomeini viewed the issue of Palestine as a fundamental and strategic Muslim world issue.

He noted that Imam Khomeini (RA) spared no efforts in supporting the Palestinian nation and resistance regardless of their political affiliations.

Of course, he said, the Islamic Revolution of Iran and its leadership have always supported all oppressed people’s struggles against the world arrogance but Palestine has had a special place.

Al-Halabi went on to express confidence that the flags of truth will soon be raised all over the Muslim world, including at Al-Aqsa Mosque, by Imam Khomeini’s followers and devotees in the near future.

The seminar was organized by the headquarters for holding ceremonies marking the 34th anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s demise in cooperation with the Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution research center and the international department of the Institute for Compilation and Publication of Imam Khomeini's works.

A number of scholars and thinkers from Iran, Lebanon, Palestine, Uzbekistan, Japan, Iraq, Germany, Malaysia, and Romania addressed the seminar.
