According to eyewitness accounts, Israeli forces forcefully entered the prayer hall on Thursday night, conducted searches, and vandalized sections of the premises while seizing certain items, the Palestinian WAFA news agency reported.

For a considerable period, Israeli authorities have been targeting the Bab al-Rahma Prayer Hall with the intent to assert control and convert it into a Jewish synagogue. This aligns with the broader objective of the Israeli government to impose a Jewish identity on the Al-Aqsa Mosque, recognized as the third most sacred site for Muslims.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque holds immense religious significance for Muslims worldwide and occupies a central position in al-Quds, an area that has been occupied and unlawfully annexed by the Israeli regime since 1967.

The Islamic Waqf, responsible for managing and preserving Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem, oversees the administration of the Bab al-Rahma Prayer Hall, as well as the entire Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

These ongoing efforts by Israeli authorities to assert control over this revered site raise concerns regarding the protection of religious freedom and the safeguarding of cultural heritage.
