Egyptian Student Completes Writing of Quran in Three Months

IQNA – A student at Egypt’s Al-Azhar University has successfully transcribed the entire Holy Quran in Ottoman script within three months.

 

Rehab Salah, a twenty-year-old resident of Qena province, expressed her elation at achieving this milestone, bringing joy to her family and earning the admiration of her instructors, Youm7 reported on Tuesday.

Recounting her journey, Salah shared that her aspiration to transcribe the Quran had been a “longstanding dream”.

With unwavering determination, she dedicated three full months to the meticulous task, immersing herself in the sacred text and channeling all her efforts into transcribing the word of God, according to the report.

Salah said that her profound love for the Quran inspired her to undertake the ambitious project, a passion that blossomed during her enrollment at Al-Azhar.

She says she was encouraged by her family and motivated by her instructors.

“Initially, I set out to memorize the entire Holy Quran, and I managed to commit it to my memory within a year and a half,” she said.

Explaining the genesis of her decision to transcribe the Quran, Salah noted that her deep connection with the sacred text propelled her to embark on this endeavor.

Over three months, she worked on transcribing the Holy Quran in Ottoman script within the confines of her study room, simultaneously managing her academic responsibilities.

Salah emphasized that the process of writing the Quran served as a valuable tool for reinforcing her memorization and allowed her to revisit and solidify what she had committed to memory.

She said the accomplishment has not only brought happiness to her family and instructors but has also instilled a sense of “pride” in herself.
