The competition has been organized in Iran for two age categories of 17-22 and 12-16 years.
The contestants are required to imitate the recitation style of prominent qaris of the Muslim world.
In the first round, some 4,000 qaris sent a recorded video of their recitation.
After several rounds, 82 contenders made it to the in-person stage, which was held at the Imamzadeh Saleh (AS) holy shrine in north of Tehran from March 5 to 9.
Now, according to the panel of judges, 14 qaris, 9 in the 12-16 age group and 5 in the 17-22 age group have qualified for the finals.

The final round is scheduled to be held at the 12,000 Azadi Indoor Stadium in the Iranian calendar month of Ordibehesht (Apirl-May).
