The 3d edition of the Badr Festival is underway at the city’s Innovations Center, Ae24 website reported.

The manuscript belongs to Fujairah’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi.

It took professional calligraphers eight months to write the copy in ten volumes.

Each volume contains three Juzes (parts) of the Holy Book, according to Hamid al-Baqishi, secretary of the festival.

He said each volume differs from the rest in terms of script, calligraphy, style and decoration.

For example, he noted, the first volume is in Mashreqi Kufic while the second one has been calligraphed in Muhaqiq Thulth, which was common during the Mamluk era.
