Iran’s 47th Nat’l Quran Contest: More than 700 Qualify for Finals

IQNA – The organizing committee of the Iran’s 47th National Holy Quran Competition announced the names to the contenders who have qualified for the final round.

According to the committee, a total of 713 contestants who has the best performance in the preliminary stages have advanced to the finals.  

They compete in various categories, including Quran recitation, Tarteel, memorization of the Quran, Adhan (call to prayer) and recitation of supplications.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s National Quran Competition is annually held by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of top Quran activists from across the country.

It is aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in society.

The top winners of the competition will represent Iran in the international Quran competitions across the world.

This year’s competition is held in commemoration of the “Martyrs of Service”, namely former President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions who were killed in a helicopter crash in May.
