Lebanese Injured in Israeli Attacks Visit Holy Shrines in Karbala

IQNA – A number of Lebanese citizens injured in recent Israeli attacks visited the mausoleums of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) in Karbala, Iraq.

The have been treated in hospitals affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS). 

The Astan facilitated their visit, Abdul Amir Taha, head of the Astan’s public relations office said

He noted that a committee has also been set up to serve more than 2,500 Lebanese citizens.

It was established after top Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani stressed the need for providing humanitarian aid for the Lebanese people, he said.  

The committee has provided accommodation, food and medical care for them at the pilgrims’ guest houses of the Astan, he stated.

Taha added that the Astan is trying to provide services to other Lebanese citizens who have come to Iraq.
