It says the competition is also a venue for the gathering of top Quran activists from around the world to showcase their Quranic talents.
A press conference is slated to be held at the mosque in the Administrative Capital of Egypt near Cairo on Sunday where Awqaf Minister Osama el Azhari will reveal details of the competition’s 31st edition.
He will elaborate on the number of the competition’s participants, media coverage and sidelines activities, Al-Qahira website reported.
The Awqaf ministry has said earlier that the total cash prizes set to be distributed among the winners of this edition will amount to 10 million Egyptian pounds.
The 30th edition of the international Quran contest was held in April 2024 with memorizers from 64 countries in attendance.
