Abdul Malik Ibrahim Abdulati, who came first in the category of memorization of the Quran in Egypt’s 31st international Quran competition, made the remark in an interview with Al-Naas TV network.
He said he thanked God for the success and was proud to have made the achievement, Cairo24 website reported.
Abdulati said that while he expected to win a top prize, he was thrilled when his name was announced as the top winner.
He noted that he put a lot of effort on the path to success and spent a lot of time reading the verses of the Quran.
Those wishing to succeed in such contests should know that the way to the top is through diligence and hard work.
The 31st edition of Egypt’s international Quran competition was held in the country’s administrative capital on December 7-10 with the participation of representatives from more than 60 countries.
