IQNA – A new mobile application India offers interpretation of the Quran in Hindi language.

The Hindi-language app for the Quranic interpretation Tafheemul Quran was launched by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH)  in a ceremony on Thursday.

The app, developed by Islami Sahitya Trust, an affiliate of JIH, aims to provide a simplified interpretation of the Quran for Hindi-speaking audiences, India Tomorrow reported on Saturday.

During the launch, JIH president Syed Sadatullah Husaini commended the efforts of the trustees and app developers.

He highlighted the dedication of Maulana Syed Abul A'la Maududi, the original author of Tafheemul Quran, who extensively studied German, Hinduism, Christianity, and various philosophies to produce the interpretation. Husaini stressed the importance of making the app widely accessible, not only for Muslims but for anyone interested in understanding the Quran in Hindi.

The app offers the complete Quranic text, along with its Hindi translation and interpretation by Maulana Maududi. Users can read both the translation and interpretation, while an audio feature is available exclusively for the translation.

The Hindi translation was carried out by Maulana Naseem Ahmad Ghazi Falahi, a task that took nearly 12 years to complete. He explained that the translation includes brief explanations of Quranic terms and references to Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) Hadiths.

Trust Secretary Waris Hussain, along with other officials, participated in unveiling the app's poster before the official launch. Developer Yusuf Ameen provided an overview of the app's key features.

Dr. Razi-ul-Islam Nadvi, National Secretary of JIH's Shariah Council, described the initiative as Sadaqa-e-Jariya (ongoing charity), while Trust President Dr. Farhat Hussain mentioned plans to digitize more religious texts in the future.
