1,100 Students Participate in Sheikh Rashid Quran Competition in Dubai

IQNA – The Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Quran Competition in the UAE saw the participation of 1,104 male and female students representing 32 schools.

 

According to Emirati media outlets, the competition, organized by the Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, aims to promote the memorization and recitation of the Quran, as well as the learning of Tajweed and scientific texts among students.

Students from 41 nationalities competed in four categories: Quran memorization, best recitation, memorization of scientific texts, and memorization of Tajweed texts.

There was also a special category for students with disabilities.

In total, 637 students participated in the Quran memorization category, 109 in the best recitation category, 117 in the Tajweed texts memorization category, and 241 in the scientific texts memorization category.

Abdullah Abu Bakr Basaleh, head of the Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Quran Competition team, stated, “This competition is an exemplary model for instilling Islamic values in the hearts of students.”

The event aims to build a generation committed to their religious teachings and contributing to societal progress, he said.
