IQNA – The second edition of the Imitative Recitation Festival is set to take place in Qazvin, Iran, from February 22 to 25, featuring 50 young Quran reciters from across the country.

Speaking to IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mostafa Majidi, Director General of Awqaf and Charity Affairs of Qazvin Province, said that the competition will be held in three age groups of 9-13, 13-16, and 16-20.

According to Majidi, over 3,000 young Quran enthusiasts submitted their recitations online following the festival's announcement. He explained, "Following three rounds of evaluations, the judges selected 50 finalists, who will gather in Qazvin for the competition."

The schedule includes competitions from the evening of February 22 and throughout February 23 and 24, with the final round on February 24 and the closing ceremony on February 25.

Majidi highlighted that in addition to the main event, Quranic gatherings with international and local qaris will be held across Qazvin Province. "We have planned 22 Quranic sessions to enrich the festival’s atmosphere, alongside an exhibition showcasing Quranic and cultural products at the Imamzadeh Hossein shrine."

This year’s festival builds on the success of the inaugural event, which introduced the concept of imitative recitation—a practice where participants replicate the styles of renowned qaris—to a wider audience.

Last year’s event was held in Tehran’s Imamzadeh Saleh in May.
