It was held in cooperation with the Sharjah Holy Quran Academy and the Sharjah Quran and TV Network, according to the UAE news agency.
More than 50 male and female scholars from 35 scholarly and scientific institutions in 17 countries took part in the conference.
The discussed the efforts of scholars of Qara'at throughout historical periods, their approaches to the terminology of the science of Qara'at, the study of recitation in universities and various institutions, and the role of digital technology and artificial intelligence in developing Qara'at teaching methods while preserving their authenticity.
The history of Quranic Qara'at and the examination of its terminology, the efforts of scholars in recitations, the relationship between Quranic Qara'at and various sciences, and the reality of Quranic Qara'at in the digital age were among other topics discussed in various sessions of the conference.

Abdul Karim Othman, head of the conference’s scientific committee, said the event served as an opportunity to enhance scientific collaboration among institutions and universities active in the field of the Quran and Quranic Qara'at.
He added that such programs paly an effective role in strengthening the position of recitations and promoting the inclusion of Quranic Qara'at in academic discussions.
