WFPIST Chief to Attend Int’l Conference in Mecca

IQNA – Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Shahriari will take part in an international gathering in Mecca.

The second edition of the Global Conference for Building Bridges between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects is held in Mecca on March 6-7, 2025.

 

The second edition of the Global Conference for Building Bridges between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects will kick off in the holy city on Thursday.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is organizing the two-day conference.

Muslim scholars from different Islamic schools of thought ae expected to participate in the gathering.

The first edition of the international event was held during the holy month of Ramadan last year.

The aim of this conference is to emphasize the achievements of last year’s gathering and to develop a plan for a coalition among Muslims, utilizing the insights, speeches, and materials presented in the discussions.

It seeks to combat sectarian disputes that have historically led to division and conflict while promoting the declared principle of brotherhood.

A key highlight of this conference is the launch of the Encyclopedia of Islamic Thought Convergence, prepared by the Center for the Preservation of Reason.

This encyclopedia, created with the participation of 60 Islamic researchers and thinkers, serves as a comprehensive guide to commonly accepted Islamic principles.
