Qaris from 3 Countries Showcase Quranic Talents on 5th Day of Al-Ameed Int’l Contest

IQNA – The fifth night of the second edition of Al-Ameed International Quran Award in Iraq saw performances by qaris from three countries.

A contender in Al-Ameed International Quran Award in Iraq

 

Muhammad Taqi from Australia, Muhammad Hadaya from Indonesia and Ammar al-Hilli from the host country were the contenders on the fifth night.

Also, the story of Hussein, a young Lebanese Quran memorizer who was injured in the pager explosion incident in Lebanon, was shared during the event.

The competition’s panel of judges presented him with the flag of the holy shrine of Hazrat Abbas (AS) as a symbol of spiritual support for this Lebanese Quran memorizer.

The panel comprises Quran experts from different countries, including Sheikh Mohamed Basyuni from Egypt, Abdul Kabir Heidari from Afghanistan, Muhammad Asfour from Egypt, Hassanayn al-Hulw from Iraq, Seyed Karim Mousawi from Iran and Muhammad Rammal from Lebanon.

The final round of the second edition of Al-Ameed International Quran Recitation Competition was launched in Iraq’s holy city of Karbala in the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

Qaris from 22 countries are taking part in the international Quranic event.

In the first round, interested individuals submitted a video clip of their recitation, to the competition committee and those who had the best performance made it to the finals.

The inaugural edition of the Al-Ameed International Quran Recitation Competition in Ramadan 2024 attracted participants from 21 countries.

It is organized by the Astan of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine with the aim of promoting the Quranic culture.
