Palestinian Groups Sympathize with Iran after Deadly Bandar Abbas Blast

IQNA – A number of Palestinian group issued messages to express solidarity with Iran after an explosion killed at least 25 people in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) in its message stressed its sympathy and solidarity with the Iranian nation and government and expressed condolences for this painful and bitter incident.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran, with its strong will and rich experience, and in line with its long experience in managing crises and turning challenges into opportunities for progress and stability, can easily overcome this incident.”

The PFLP expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and wished swift recovery for the wounded and injured.  

In a separate message, the Palestinian Popular Resistance Committees expressed its condolences to the Iranian authorities and the Iranian nation for the deaths of a number of citizens in the tragic incident, and wished for the immediate recovery of the wounded.

“We have full confidence in the power and ability of the Islamic Republic and its wise leadership to quickly overcome this painful incident,” the message said.

The Palestinian Popular Resistance Committees asked God, the Almighty, to grant security and stability to the country and the Iranian nation and all Islamic and Arab countries and their nations.

Also, the Islamic resistance movement Hamas issued a statement, declaring its full support and solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran, its leaders, government and people in the wake of the massive explosion in Bandar Abbas.

“We also extend our condolences to the families of the victims and ask Allah to grant them His mercy and to ensure the immediate recovery of the injured and wounded.”

The Palestinian movement further emphasized, “We believe in the Islamic Republic’s ability to overcome the consequences of this painful incident and continue its path of construction and progress.”

A powerful explosion at Shahid Rajaee port in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, on Saturday caused widespread damage and casualties, with emergency teams rushing to the scene to bring the situation under control.

According to the latest death toll as of Sunday, at least 25 people were killed and more than 800 others injured in the incident.

The director general of Hormozgan Province’s crisis management department said the explosion was extremely strong, but the cause has not yet been determined.

Initial reports indicate that the blast originated in an administrative building within the port complex. The blast was so intense that it completely destroyed the administrative building and severely damaged many vehicles.
