Pilgrims Urged to Take Certain Steps If They Lose Their Nusuk Card during Hajj

IQNA – Carrying the Nusuk card is mandatory for Hajj pilgrims as it contains essential information. But what if they lose it?

Saudi authorities have outlined the steps pilgrims must follow if they lose their mandatory identification card during the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stated that in the event of losing the Nusuk card, the pilgrim should immediately inform their group leader, use the digital version of the card when travelling, and report the loss to the nearest security officer.

Help can also be requested by calling 1966 or by visiting the Guests of God Care Centre or Nusuk Care Center branches located around the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Islam’s holiest site.

Following these steps will ensure continued access to services and unrestricted movement throughout the holy sites, the ministry noted.

The Nusuk Hajj card is an official document that distinguishes authorized pilgrims from irregular ones.

It carries essential information such as the pilgrim’s location assignments in Mecca, Medina, and other sacred sites, as well as contact details of the service company.

The card also stores the pilgrim’s medical history, aiding in both guidance and emergency care, and reducing the risk of individuals going missing.

The cards, printed with high security features, are designed to prevent duplication and verify the pilgrim’s legal status.

Overseas pilgrims receive the cards upon arrival, while domestic pilgrims obtain theirs from service companies before the start of Hajj.
