IQNA – The Yemeni people will humiliate the enemy and rub its nose to the ground, the head of the political council of Iraq’s al-Nujaba movement said.

Highlighting Yemen’s resistance and steadfastness in the face of US and Israeli acts of aggression, Sheikh Ali al-Assadi said the Zionists and the Americans have failed to learn lessons from history.

The US-Zionist aggression on Yemen is nothing surprising, he said in a message.

What is surprising is that they have not yet learned lessons from reading history and from the recent experiences, he added.

The most recent example was when they deployed their forces in the region against Yemen under the name ‘Operation Decisive Storm’, only for the Yemenis to humiliate them and rub their nose to the ground, al-Assadi went on to say.

He was referring to the Saudi-led attacks on Yemen that began in 2015 and ended in utter failure.

“The only difference is that this time, it is no longer a proxy war, but they (the US and Zionists) have entered the battlefield themselves”.

The message came after the Israeli regime launched attacks on Yemen this week.

On Sunday, the Israeli military failed to intercept a Yemeni missile that successfully struck the heavily fortified Ben Gurion airport. Following the attack, the Yemeni Armed Forces vowed to impose a complete “aerial blockade” on Israel by “repeatedly targeting airports,” especially Ben Gurion.

In response, Israeli jets bombed Sana’a International Airport and other civilian infrastructure, prompting Yemen to pledge strikes on Israeli targets with added force.

Since the onset of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, Yemeni forces have carried out scores of operations in support of the war-hit Gazans, striking targets throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to targeting Israeli ships or vessels heading towards ports in the occupied territories.
