Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, Director of Iran’s Islamic Seminaries, made the remark in a meeting with a number of Indonesian thinkers and guests traveling to Iran to attend a conference on the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Seminary of Qom.
In more than 100 countries around the world, young people interested in theological knowledge have pioneered and organized centers of Islamic and human sciences, he stated.
He further said that after the Islamic Revolution of Iran, all the doors of Islamic sciences were opened to women, and today, there are as many Islamic science centers for women as there are for men.
The women’s Islamic seminary has become a large center for the expansion of Islamic and human and moral sciences, he noted.
Ayatollah Arafi added that today, nearly 500 women's seminary schools are active in Qom and throughout Iran, and these centers have also been established abroad, which is a phenomenon arising from the Islamic Seminary of Qom.
Another important issue is the international extension of the seminary that has manifested the enlightenment of Islamic sciences in the world, the cleric noted.
