The celebrations include various programs and activities, Haidar Rahim, head of the Astan’s media office said.
The highlight of the week is the broad participation in the celebrations, with more than 700 Eid al-Ghadir flags raised in Iraq and around the world, he said.
The Ghadir flag has also been hoisted in more than 40 countries on five continents, including European countries, five states in the United States and three flags in Iran, with the coordination, support and support of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine’s Astan, he noted.
Rahim explained that the celebrations will include cultural and scholarly events, in addition to programs dedicated to children, servants of the holy shrine and Ghadiriah gatherings, and Quranic festivals.
More than forty events will be held during the week that began on Monday, June 9, 2025, including a march for orphaned children, with the participation of more than a thousand children from the holy city of Najaf who will take the oath of allegiance with Imam Ali (AS), he went on to say.
Rahim emphasized that the largest performing art piece related to Eid al-Ghadir will be performed for the first time in Najaf province.
The piece will be performed on a 10,000-square-meter plot of land in an art space that will seat more than 5,000 spectators and the performance will continue for a full week, he noted.
The Astan has also started decorating the streets in Najaf with the area of decorated sites reaching more than 35 thousand square meters, he went on to say.
