Malaysia’s 65th Int’l Quran Competition Opens with 49 Nations Represented

The 65th edition of the competition began in Kuala Lumpur with a ceremonial opening officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Anwar underscored Malaysia’s commitment to promoting the Quran’s message globally. He also announced a new initiative to further these efforts.

"On August 8, I will launch the Mushaf Ummah Program to broaden the dissemination of the Quran and the message of Islam around the world through official translations into 30 world languages,” the Prime Minister said.

"In all my travels around the world — to Peru, Brazil, France, Cambodia, and dozens of other countries in recent years — every time I visit, I bring the Quran along with a translation in that country's language, and we distribute it officially. This, I believe, is a good approach," Bernama quoted him as saying.
