Washington, D.C., based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the United States’ largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, on Sunday also condemned the Israeli slaughter of more starving civilians desperately seeking food for their families and the intentionally-provocative intrusion on the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israeli extremists.
Six more Palestinians have died in the Israeli regime’s forced starvation of Gaza, bringing the total number starved to death to 175 people, including 93 children. Israeli attacks across Gaza have killed at least 92 people so far today, including dozens of aid seekers.
In a statement, CAIR said:
“The world cannot continue turning a blind eye to the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza. The Israeli government’s use of starvation as a weapon of war has now claimed the lives of at least 175 Palestinians — nearly half of them children. Today’s massacre of starving aid seekers is yet another horrific reminder that Israel’s siege is not only illegal under international law, it is an affront to basic human decency.
“We also condemn in the strongest terms the provocative storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israeli extremists, which is a direct attack on the religious rights of Muslims worldwide.
“We call on the Trump administration and the international community to take immediate, concrete action to end the blockade of Gaza, ensure the delivery of desperately-needed humanitarian aid, and hold the Israeli government accountable for war crimes committed against civilians. Empty statements of concern are no longer enough — there must be consequences and action.”

Last week, CAIR said Slovenia’s ban on all weapons trade with Israel is one more indication that Europe is “slowly waking up to Israel’s genocide in Gaza.”
CAIR also welcomed the Canadian government’s announcement that it plans to recognize the State of Palestine and called President Trump’s implicit threat to scuttle a trade agreement with Canada over its decision the “latest sign” that his administration is putting Israel first, not America first.
Last month, CAIR welcomed the French government’s planned recognition of a Palestinian state.
