Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb has issued a decree to form the specialized scientific committee to conduct a comprehensive study on the proposal to establish the Museum of the Scientific Heritage of Muslim Scholars.
It is aimed at documenting the civilizational and scientific role of Muslims, El-Balad reported.
The museum will house the achievements of Muslim and Arab scholars and will elucidate their role in the advancement of human civilization.
Mahmoud Siddiq, the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research at Al-Azhar University, will head the committee, and a number of the university’s officials and professors will be its members.
In its comprehensive study, the committee will examine the achievements of Islamic civilization in various fields of basic science and their applications, and will highlight the most prominent tools and inventions in which Muslim scholars played a role.
The committee will also present a proposal aimed at designing physical models of the achievements of Muslim scholars and determining their cultural and scientific value.
It will work to provide a comprehensive architectural vision that is consistent with the nature of the project and its cultural and scientific objectives.
