
This was announced during a meeting between Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, with the head and members of the committee tasked with organizing the contest, Ain Libya website reported.
He emphasized the importance of encouraging military personnel to memorize the Holy Quran, explaining and strengthening the role of Islamic values with the aim of building the character of a Muslim soldier and strengthening the spirit of cooperation between Islamic countries, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
Al-Haddad stated that Quran competitions are an important tool for military institutions because they connect soldiers with the Book of God and strengthen the spirit of honorable competition among participants.

According to the report, the competition is held in an effort to strengthen the Islamic identity of the military, in which the reciters and memorizers of the Libyan army will compete with their counterparts from several Arab and Islamic countries.
