IQNA – A UAE-based charity has transformed triumph in a Quranic competition into a profound spiritual experience, sending winning memorizers from Bangladesh to perform Umrah.

A Bangladeshi memorizer who has won a Quran competition was sent to perform Umrah.

Sharjah Charity International sent the winners of its Quran competition held during last Ramadan in Bangladesh on a special trip to the holy sites to perform Umrah.

The journey was part of the society’s ongoing efforts to support and honor outstanding Quran memorizers, encouraging them to live by the teachings of the Quran as a practical guide in their daily lives.

Khalid Al Zarri, Head of the Orphans Department, explained that 17 winning students participated in the trip, including two visually impaired students who demonstrated exceptional memorization skills despite challenges. Knowledgeable supervisors accompanied the students throughout, providing guidance and support.

The trip was fully funded by the “Tayseer Umrah” project, aimed at promoting Quranic education and motivating students.

The Umrah journey included performing the rituals of Umrah and educational visits in Madinah to historical sites linked to the Prophet’s life. Al Zarri emphasized that Sharjah Charity will continue initiatives that strengthen the role of the Quran in society and nurture distinguished students to be role models in conduct, knowledge, and ethics.
