Hojat-ol-Islam Hamidreza Arbab Soleimani, deputy culture minister and head of the ministry’s Supreme Center for the Quran and the Family, held a meeting Wednesday with women Quran activists on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA), which marks woman’s day.
He lauded the contributions of women to the International Quran Exhibition, and asked the activists in this field to present their suggestions for improving the programs of the expo and introduce qualified personalities so that the cultural table of the holy month of Ramadan becomes more fruitful than in the past.
The Quran exhibition is held every year in the holy month of Ramadan by the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance with the aim of promoting the concepts of the Quran and developing Quranic activities.
It showcases the latest Quranic achievements in the country as well as a variety of products dedicated to the promotion of the Holy Book.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hojat-ol-Islam Arbab Soleimani appreciated the activities of Zakiyeh Abdollahian, head of the Women Quranic Research Institute, and the representatives of the Quranic institutions and centers present at the ceremony, and urged women to use the best of their ability to promote the teachings of the Quran and the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
“Reports show that in some areas, including the activities of women researchers, we are facing problems that must be solved as soon as possible. In this regard, it is necessary to form a specialized working group for women Quranic researchers so that issues such as permits, institutional issues, and suggestions can be pursued in a coherent manner.”
He added, “I have learned from experience that daily familiarity with the Quran is essential and every Quranic activist must complete a course of interpretation.”
The cleric further said the most important mission of the Ministry of Culture is to promote public culture and benefit from the material and spiritual treasures of the Holy Quran.
He also emphasized the need for special attention to the issue of family along with social activities.
