Number of Children Born in Gaza Down 40%

IQNA – The number of births in the Gaza Strip has decreased by 40 percent over the past two years, a report said.

According to the Al-Arabiya report, the severe humanitarian conditions caused by the Zionist regime’s genocidal war in the Palestinian enclave is the reason for the fall in the number of births. 

In addition to launching a brutal war on Gaza, the Israeli regime imposed an all-out blockade on the enclave since October 2023, preventing the entry of food, fuel, medicine and medical supplies.

Due to the harsh humanitarian conditions, malnutrition, constant Israeli bombings, and destruction of hospitals and medical centers, the number of miscarriages increased during the genocidal war.

Also, since the beginning of its aggression, the Zionist forces had no qualms about targeting children.

According to Munir al-Barsh, director general of Gaza’s health department, it has been a preplanned policy of the Israeli regime to target the life, health and growth of Palestinian children.

Noting that the occupation regime has prevented food aid from reaching children and pregnant women, he described Israeli as a direct threat to the health and growth of children in Gaza.

He went on to say that there are clear indexes showing that the Zionist regime has been targeting the demographic future of the Palestinian nation.
