
Mohammad Reza Mosayyebzadeh, secretary of the Public Quran Teaching Commission, told IQNA that by desecrating the Quran, mosques and other sanctities, the enemy seeks to undermine the status of the Book of God and weaken the religious base of the society.
He said the Quran is the book of guidance for humanity and introduces the style of life that leads to salvation for all people.
The enemy wants to undermine religious symbols but is unaware of the strong and unbreakable bond between the religion and the people, he stated.
Mosayyebzadeh added that while such incidents hurt the feelings of every faithful person, one should rest assured that they are nothing new and that the Quran and religious path will continue powerfully.
He underlined the Iranian teenagers and youths’ interest in religious affairs and noted that some one million people who took part in Itikaf (religious retreat) rituals in Iran in recent weeks were school students and youths.
Violent rioters vandalized public and private properties in a number of cities across Iran in recent days, killing some ordinary people and security forces and inflicting injuries on others.

In a televised speech on Sunday, he said the rioters have been trained by the US and the Zionist regime to provoke unrest in the country.
