The Iraqi cabinet of ministers has named the 27th day of the lunar Hijri month of Rajab, which marks Eid al-Maba’ath, as the national Quran day.

Eid al-Maba’ath celebrates the anniversary of the day when Muhammad (PBUH) was appointed as the last messenger of God and the first verses of the Quran were revealed to him.
