IQNA – A special program marking the National Day of the Holy Quran was held at the University of Baghdad on Saturday.

A special program marking the National Day of the Holy Quran was held at the University of Baghdad on Saturday, January 18, 2026, which was attended by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.

 

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani took part in the program and delivered a speech, mohesr.gov website reported.

He said Iraqis have managed to come out of many calamities and tragedies victoriously because the Quran is in their hearts.

Higher Education Minister Naim al-Aboudi was another speaker at the event.

He said it is the responsibility of everyone, especially universities, to play a constant role in raising awareness about Islamic values and Quranic activities

Al-Aboudi also highlighted the higher education ministry’s efforts to elevate the status of the Quran and promote the culture moderation in universities.
