
Asghar Montazer-al-Qaem said in an interview with IQNA that Quran burning is an attempt by global arrogance to extinguish the light of the Quran.
The Quran is becoming globalized, and the arrogance considers the only way to combat it to destroy it; unaware that perhaps a few volumes of this book are burned, but it is becoming more and more flourishing day by day.
He said that throughout history, desecration of the Quran happened many times and that fanatic followers of various religions, especially Christian fanatics, have played a role in burning the Quran.
The Quran is the book of knowledge for Muslims and the source of Islamic morality and law, and it does not negate the teachings and sacred texts of other religions, he stated.
Among all the divine books, it is the Quran that affirms all Abrahamic religions, honors the prophets, and bans Muslims from insulting the sanctities of other religions; but unfortunately, Jews or fanatic followers of other religions have taken offensive actions against this divine book, he deplored.
