Quranic Session in Najaf Marks Imam Zaman Birthday
The Mid-Shaaban Quranic gathering was held within the framework of a Quranic initiative for Najaf Seminary students, Al-Kafeel reported.
The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Sheikh Ahmed al-Falih, followed by a Quranic lecture by Ammar al-Husseini, and then Sheikh Muhammad al-Asadi performed the second recitation.
Sheikh Wissam Al-Sabti, head of the Quranic Affairs Unit of the Najaf Seminary, said the gathering was held at the Khatam Al-Anbiya (PBUH) School with the participation of a group of religious students and as part of efforts to spread the Quranic culture among different segments of society in all provinces of Iraq, especially the students of the Najaf Seminary.
He added that Quranic sessions are held with the aim of guiding students and emphasizing the importance of reading the Holy Quran, through holding programs and activities near the students’ places of residence.
Al-Sabti noted that this Quranic initiative includes a program to teach basic Quranic concepts, prepare reciters, and develop recitation skills, as well as a program related to preparing a group of elite missionaries through specialized courses.
The gathering ended with a eulogy recitation and prayers describing the life of Imam Mahdi (AS) delivered by Sheikh Ali Zarkani.
The Mid-Shaaban Eid, marking the birth anniversary of Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent), falls on the 15th day of the lunar Hijri month of Shaaban.
