The special section of Quranic calligraphers affiliated with the Syrian ministry of Awqaf has received a large number of visitors, and this reception reflects the growing interest in Arabic calligraphy as an important art for transmitting the Holy Quran and preserving the aesthetics and identity of the Arabic language, according to SANA.

It is part of the ministry’s commitment to strengthening the connection with the Holy Quran, preserving the authentic Arab and Islamic heritage, and helping to preserve the identity of the Arabic language through calligraphy as one of its most prominent cultural manifestations, according to the report.

Adham al-Jaafari, a member of the Quran Printing Committee of the ministry and a master of Arabic calligraphy, pointed out that upon the request of visitors, live calligraphy is provided to them.

The verses of the Quran are directly written in Uthmani calligraphy, and the ministry’s pavilion includes a special section for examining the Qurans and writing letters and Arabicization according to the rules of Quranic calligraphy, he stated.

Al-Jaafari explained that the work is not limited to calligraphy alone, but also includes introducing the stages of correcting the Quranic text, which is carried out with the participation of scholars from religious institutions and a number of their assistants.
