Al-Azhar said in a statement that the war and the shedding of the blood of innocent people must stop immediately, Ash-Shorouq reported.
The aggressions in the region, carried out with whatever justification or pretext, run counter to morality, religion and law, it stated.
Al-Azhar called on the international community to take action in order to establish peace in the Middle East and prevent the spread of war.

“We call on all sides to exercise restraint and act with judiciousness and wisdom and based on religion and humanity in this severe crisis and return to the negotiating table without any delay,” it went on to say.
