World Quran Elites’ Duty to Cry Out against Deviation, Arrogance Emphasized
In an open letter to Quran reciters, memorizers and activists around the world, the Iranian qaris and Quranic experts referred to the ongoing US-Israeli aggression against Iran and said, “Today, the Holy Quran calls us to responsibility and action.”
Following are excerpts from the letter:
We, the community of Quran experts and reciters of the Islamic Republic of Iran, write this letter with deep concern and compassion for the Quranic elites of the Islamic Ummah in a situation where Islamic Iran stands at the forefront of the battle against the oppressors and devils of the world. Resistance groups, from Yemen to Gaza, and from Lebanon to Iraq, have joined forces with it, standing against oppression.
What is our crime? Other than adhering to the Quran and refusing to submit to the Pharaohs of our time?
“Say: O People of the Book! Do you disapprove of us [only] because we believe in Allah, and in the revelation that has come to us, and in that which came before? And yet, it is true that most of you are evil-doers.” (Quran 5:59)
Shouldn’t the people of the Holy Quran, following the teachings of the divine word, dissuade the supporters and accomplices of the infidel front from cooperating with the enemies of Islam?
The duty of those who study and teach the divine book to cry out against the deviation and arrogance of the oppressors is greater than others; just as Almighty God describes the ‘Rabbaniyyun’ (those devoted to God) with this characteristic: ‘But you should be Godly scholars/devoted to the Lord, because you were teaching the Book and you were studying it.’ (Quran 3:79)
Today, the Holy Quran calls us to responsibility and action. If we do not have the possibility or expertise to be present on the hard battlefield, the soft battlefield demands our role.
Surely you know who is on the side of truth in this battle. We know that your hearts bleed from the oppression that a few tyrants inflict upon the world.
“And what is it for you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and for the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, ‘Our Lord, take us out of this city whose people are oppressors, and appoint for us from Yourself a protector, and appoint for us from Yourself a helper’?” (Quran 4:75)

As Quran experts and elites of the Islamic Ummah and those familiar with the luminous word of the Almighty, it is incumbent upon us to call the Muslim nations to aid the truth and to make the voice of the Quran heard by all, this time not only with its recitation but with action and by breaking the silence against the American and Zionist enemy:
“…except for those who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah much and defend themselves after they have been wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned.’ (Quran 26:227)"
