Iran Attaches Importance to Ceasefire in Lebanon: Speaker
Ghalibaf made the remark in a telephone conversation with his Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri, on Thursday.
“In the negotiations in Islamabad (between Iranian and US delegations) and afterwards, we have been seriously seeking to force the enemies to establish a permanent ceasefire in all conflict areas in accordance with the agreement, because for us, the ceasefire in Lebanon is as important as the ceasefire in Iran.”
Ghalibaf expressed condolences for the martyrdom of the oppressed and resistant people of Lebanon, especially the brave fighters of Hezbollah and Amal, and appreciated the spirit of courage and perseverance of the Lebanese people and speaker of the parliament.
God has promised that when resistance takes place, the result will definitely be victory, he stated.
He referred to the efforts and consultations of various officials in Iran about the developments in Lebanon, saying, “I am constantly following the situation in Lebanon and (efforts for) establishing a ceasefire in this country, and this issue is very important to us.”
Berri, for his part, presented a report on the latest situation of the Zionist regime’s attacks on Lebanon, and said, “Israel is literally committing crimes in our country and seeking to displace Lebanese people, and so far more than 1.2 million Lebanese have been displaced.”

“We and the resistance fighters are steadfast on our path,” the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament said, adding, “Any official communication and consultation with the Zionist regime is definitely not in the interests of the Lebanese people.”
He also told Ghalibaf, “I appreciate your seriousness and efforts in supporting Lebanon and the Islamic resistance.”
