IQNA – Madrasa (Islamic school) students in Chad were gifted 1,500 copies of the Holy Quran by the Turkey-based Orphan Foundation (Yetimler Vakfı).

Madrasa (Islamic school) students in Chad were gifted 1,500 copies of the Holy Quran by the Turkey-based Orphan Foundation (Yetimler Vakfı).

The foundation has successfully expanded its ongoing educational and humanitarian campaign in Chad, distributing 1,500 copies of the Holy Quran to students across seven different madrasas in the rural outskirts of the capital, N’Djamena.

The initiative specifically targets young boys and girls undergoing rigorous hafiz (Quran memorization) training under exceptionally challenging local conditions. Funded entirely through the contributions of global philanthropists, the distribution aims to alleviate severe educational resource shortages in the region's rural districts.

Foundation officials emphasized that their presence in Chad is part of a sustained, year-round strategy rather than a seasonal or Eid-specific relief effort. During recent field assessments, volunteer teams identified deep-seated structural and educational deficiencies within the local madrasa system, prompting a pledged phased rollout of additional aid.

"Educational support is of vital importance for the future of these children," said Mehmet Ali Aysu, the Orphan Foundation Representative leading the operations on the ground. "Our distribution of the Holy Quran and our direct support for these madrasas will continue uninterrupted."

Aysu highlighted that the foundation's primary focus remains on securing accessible educational opportunities for orphaned, fatherless, and economically disadvantaged children who are often left behind by mainstream systems.

Looking ahead, the Orphan Foundation announced plans to scale up its operations in Chad, with several new educational and social support projects slated for development in the coming months.
