
Saudi Arabia has announced the Day of Arafah to be on Tuesday, May 26 and Eid al-Adha on Wednesday, May 27, and most countries in the world have agreed on this.
However, four countries that started the month of Dhul Hajjah a day later than others, will celebrate the Eid al-Adha on May 28.
India, Bangladesh, Brunei and South Africa had all announced that the first day of Dhul Hajjah was May 19.
Eid al-Adha commemorates the Quranic tale of Prophet Abrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to God.
