Muqtada al-Sadr Welcomes Visitors to Funeral of Martyred Leader
Muqtada al-Sadr issued a statement on Monday welcoming pilgrims traveling to Iraq for the Arbaeen pilgrimage while also inviting them to participate in the funeral ceremonies of the Martyred Leader.
In the statement, al-Sadr described Iraq as a land blessed by God with the presence of seven infallible Imams, saying the country has become "a beacon for humanity and a refuge for believing men and women." He added that Iraq has been made "the capital and destination for all those seeking knowledge and intercession."
Al-Sadr said Iraq bears "the greatest responsibility for safeguarding the infallible Imams" and called the country "the greatest stronghold of guidance," where believers from across the world gather.
Addressing visitors to Iraq, he said: "Welcome to the visitors of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) during Arbaeen, and welcome to those who come to participate in the funeral and farewell of the martyred Leader, the martyr of jihad and sacrifice. May God envelop him in His vast mercy."
He also prayed for the safety and security of all pilgrims and asked God to protect them from harm.
