He was a great leader who remained steadfast, persevered, confronted challenges, and achieved victory for the Iranian people, Nouri al-Maliki said, while speaking to reporters as pure body of the martyred Leader arrived at Najaf International Airport.
"All that the Iraqi people offer by attending the funeral and in other stances, however significant, remains little in recognition of this great man who created a great future not only for the Iranian people but for all the countries of the region," Maliki said.
He added, "Everything we offer today falls within the framework of commemorating this great leader who stood firm, persevered, and confronted major powers known for their immense military capabilities. He achieved victory, and the Iranian people triumphed with him thanks to their patience, resilience, and steadfastness, despite the magnitude of the challenges and losses." He explained that "the results are embodied in the successes achieved by the Islamic Republic, whether in the arena of political negotiations or on the fronts of confrontation."
The head of the State of Law Coalition continued, saying, "May God have mercy on the blessed martyr and all the martyrs, and may their blood be a starting point and a revolution for Muslims." He emphasized that "the clear Iraqi message today confirms that the Islamic Republic is not alone, but rather has those who stand with and support it, and that it is on the side of truth. It has many supporters in various parts of the world, even if some nations are unable to express this openly due to the political situations they are experiencing."
