JI Women Protest French Veil Ban
Protests against the French government for banning veil (Hijab) continued on Thursday as Jamaat-e-Islami women staged a protest rally against the ban outside the Lahore Press Club.
Led by JI Lahore Women Wing president Rabiya Tariq, the protestors in veils raised slogans against the western regimes for their open enmity towards Islam and Muslims. They were holding banners and placards with slogans condemning France and other European nations for usurping the religious freedom of Muslims and their fundamental rights to lead their lives according to their religious principles.
Addressing the protestors, Rabiya Tariq said the West must understand that Hijab is the identity of Muslim women who feel protected and comfortable in wearing veil.
The demonstration was also addressed by JI ameerul azeem, the JI Lahore ameer and other leaders who said that the western world was taking desperate measures to attack Islam and Muslims to stop Islam from spreading fast through peaceful means. JI Punjab women leaders held protest meetings against the French government for displaying, what they called, unbridled animosity towards Islam.
