The conference is named after Karbala where Imam Hussein (AS) and 72 of his companions were martyred while fighting against tyranny in the year 680 A.D.
The conference was attended by a galaxy of academics, students, and scholars from different Islamic schools of thought.
The speakers at the conference said that the martyrs of Karbala proved in action that one should stand up for a righteous cause regardless of the consequences.
The participants also said what happened in Karbala is not just an event, it is a movement that will always inspire the defenders of truth and justice.
